Supporting Mother Language Communication with CLEAR Global & TWB To ensure people can access information and make themselves heard, whatever language they use, CLEAR Global and TWB must not only support effective two-way communication, but ensure others see that as a right to be upheld. How do we advocate for communication and listening in the languages of crisis-affected people and other service users? What have we found successful to date, what have we learned, and where do we want to take it next? Join our Head of Research, Evidence and Advocacy and our Capacity Building Officer for the Nigeria Program for a talk and Q&A session to mark International Mother Language Day on February, 21 and Global Language Advocacy Day on February, 22. Muna Osman, there are various resources, the best one being practice. You need no specific certifications, although it is desirable to have something. If interested, you can join our community, where you'll be able to access our courses and other materials, in addition to gaining experience and contributing to a good cause: https://translatorswithoutborders.org/volunteer/.
I'm curious to attend this meeting
Great event. I can't wait to attend it.
One way to preserve mother languages which are not majoritarian could be to develop cultural programmes such as writing workshops for children an adults. Poetry slams, Art History lessons, Storytelling. A great way to preserve a language is to motivate the people that speak it to generate culture and art in said language.
Welcome to everyone, thanks for joining us! Happy #IMLD22!
